The BVIFC actively seeks and facilitates a wide cross-section of production types and has built a reputation for the provision of seamless location services. Over the years, the BVIFC has been the location for numerous productions including feature films, catalogue shoots, television commercials, documentaries, print ads and music videos. Some of the BVI’s notable production credits include: Gilette, Sports Illustrated, Calvin Klein, Rescue 911, Muppet Treasure Island (movie), Pain Killer music video by Little Big Town, Victoria’s Secrets and National Geographic. Since October 1992 the BVI Film Commission has been engaged in bringing a variety of productions to the BVI such as documentaries, movies, commercials, stills and publications.

The BVI is the premier destination for natural beauty, tropical rainforest climate, rolling green hills kissed by moderate trade winds and seemingly never-ending pristine, powdery sandy beaches. With breath-taking sunsets, memorable sunrises, dive sites and underwater locations filled with ancient relics, naval wreckage and bright tropical fish, and handsomely weathered structures that have stood the test of time and witnessed over 200 years of history, the BVI offers endless filming opportunities beyond your imagination.

The BVI Film Commission acts as a liaison between film/photography producers and all relevant Government agencies including the Customs, Labour and Immigration Departments, National Parks Trust and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force. The BVI Film Commission does not solicit or underwrite productions. The Film Commission encourage film productions coming into the unique Caribbean country by facilitating permits, licences and streamlining the arrival process.

The BVI Film Commission was established in accordance with the Motion Picture Industry Act, Chapter 294, enacted on January 2, 1990.
